Good Omens the eternal fandom
Given that Aziraphale has learning what the Internet is as a New Years Resolution, and he also had a computer by 1990 which he knew how to use very well, I propose Aziraphale the computer genius stuck sometime in the 80s. He can do just about anything on his Macintosh so long as it doesn’t require more than a megabyte of memory or a 40 MB hard drive. One day, he’ll upgrade, but for now he is very happy and has trouble understanding that Crowley can be holding a tiny phone with exponentially more power than his own computer. His computer isn’t that old.
Meanwhile Crowley isn’t sure how to turn his new phone off and on, and definitely has no idea why it crashes, but he’s very proud of it anyway.

📣 Let's go, Let's Go, Let's go! 📣
Pokémon Let's Go came out a week or two ago, and me being the predictable person I am, I bought a Switch for it. Got the bundle and everything. I'm one pokémon away from completing my pokédex, and last night I (out of pure dumb luck) caught the most important of shiny pokémon! Victor the venomoth is bright blue and I love him very much.
I don't know if I would recommend this game to people who're less in love with Kanto than I am, but this game meets all my remake desires and is pretty much my Ideal Pokémon Game, barring one major control scheme issue, some nontrivial to fix graphical errors, and the selection of rideable pokémon being incredibly haphazard.
It's playable without using the motion controls so long as you play as a handheld; I find the docked version entertaining as hell but baffling and wouldn't try doing anything serious docked. It is, however, not kind to people with tendencies towards motion sickness.
Wild pokémon battles have always been a kind of borked segment of the series, and I think Let's Go removing all but a few of them is a step in the right direction. I think it went a little too far, but balancing level-up movesets is not something the series has been good with. Either some of the wild pokémon wreck your shit, or you don't get anything good for ages. Let's Go moves a lot of learnsets around so that almost every pokémon can plausibly have a good moveset by around level 30 or so, especially if you're using the TMs that you already have access to. It's nice.
In exchange, trainer battles are generally much more difficult than in the rest of the series. You can utterly cheese everything by playing two-player, but single player? They have the same access to good moves that you do and they actually use them. It's neat.
(Someone had the incredible idea that two-player should make all battles two on one. You just have a Support Trainer with you now. You casually bring your friend with you to face the Elite Four and you're going to use two pokémon at a time while they use one. I suspect the intent was so that a younger sibling or other small child can play without slowing you down too much, but it's absurd and I absolutely took periodic advantage of this.)
Honestly, my biggest problem with Let's Go is that postgame, you can fly around on your giant dragons, but your dragon gets stopped by gatehouses. Sure, you can fly all the way from Fuchsia City to Viridian City to Indigo Plateau across the Victory road, but that gate next to Viridian Forest? No, you have to go into the menu to put your pokémon back into its pokéball. Apparently you can't tell your dragonite to land so we can walk through this checkpoint. This is some dumb nonsense right here and riding a charizard, dragonite, or aerodactyl is so fucking cool that it keeps popping up and being a pain in the ass.
Oh, and you can only Sky Dash to cities, not routes. Want to ride your dragonite over Saffron City? Haha, screw you, you need to switch it out for something else in order to go anywhere else because it's surrounded by gatehouses.

You know that TWEWY fic series? Yeah, this one. I joined a TWEWY discord server and mentioned that I was nearly done with a threesome smut fic for it and then got in trouble because ~*~ pedophilic ships. ~*~ A one line message saying the pairing. I'm not sure the age difference is really the biggest problem with a lot of Joshua ships, but you do you, internet.
So I made my own server with blackjack and hookers. It's still small but I'm happy.
I'm just really proud of myself for writing this lengthy-ass trashy smut fic that's also a lengthy meditation on the buddha nature and cycles of abuse. I don't think I came to any conclusions on the subject, but I sure wallowed in it. [ gently touches trashy porn with failed boddhisatvas ]
I need to actually read Journey to the West at some point, ehehe.

Final Fantasy VII was utterly brilliant with art design and every time we see new stuff about the remake, I cry all over again. The overworld models look extremely dated now, but that game did things with perspective and visual composition and dedication to making it look in-engine even when it's not that's stayed unparalleled.

SMT Strange Journey Redux
I'd never actually finished SMT Strange Journey before (I got stuck in Carina when my flashcart crapped out) but I'd known spoilers and I'm now nearly through with my first playthrough of Redux. I'm on Chaos and just shy of finishing up the new version of the route. I also looked up the cutscenes for the new Law route -- you can find them here -- and they are completely delightful. A bit twee, but delightful. Honestly, most of the added content is slightly twee but very charmingly so. New Neutral route sounds dumb, though. Do Law or Chaos.

End of an era, or at least a longfic project
I am free of TWEWY fic. Well, mostly. I finished posting the third plot arc and so I've marked it Complete at around 350k words, which is far too many. It's not complete-complete, but it's complete enough that if I never picked up any of my WIPs again for that fandom, I wouldn't feel like I'm leaving anyone hanging. Baffling.
When I started that project, I'd never managed to write more than 500 consecutive words on anything, though I did get a confused disjointed mess of 42k words of fic once for NaNoWriMo. And now I've written three coherent novel-length fics with plot arcs and everything. Thank you, antidepressants!!
I'm very proud of myself, but also so confused that this is something I've managed to accomplish.

People rag on Pokémon Go a lot, but I gotta say, it's still making me happy and getting me outside on a regular basis to meet up with people from the internet for a low-investment bit of social interaction in parts of town I had no idea existed. Plus, it gets me walking around when I'm too preoccupied to care how much everything hurts.
Apparently I need to start packing snacks. Somebody brought cookies today and everyone was happy, so I guess Sunday raid meetups are potluck time. I caught an entei today!! 1903 CP.

openSUSE me
My laptop's keyboard controller's on the fritz, so I got a new laptop. Then that laptop kicked it within a few days, so I exchanged it for another laptop. Micro Center's customer support is good as always :) A decent experience swapping a dead laptop for store credit and getting a different one!
I'd been using Xubuntu for years, but with Ubuntu et al getting more and more invested in systemd and pulseaudio and other nonsense that I don't quite understand, I figured it was time for a switch and now I'm on openSUSE. It's high time I tried a distro on my main box that's not a *buntu. My old media desktop had Chakra on it, which is an arch offshoot, but that was a piece of shit both in hardware and distro choice, eesh.
I don't have many opinions on openSUSE so far, but I'm happy. I've finally seen Abort / Retry / Ignore in the wild and I appreciate being able to ignore not having a dependency. Installing Dropbox tried to install something related to nautilus that openSUSE can't find, but I don't even use Nautilus. I switched to Thunar even when I was on vanilla Ubuntu back in like 2010, because it's got intelligent file renaming capabilities in a GUI. It's honestly probably perfectly fine ignoring it.

State of the Bug
I finally finished my TWEWY longfic, and I'm in the process of posting it. I'm still totally baffled by the idea of me being able to finish things? It's a 300k word longfic! And I was able to divide it into cohesive arcs and to actually wrap up pretty much everything I wanted from it! Revising it's an ass and a half, as these things always are, but if I uploaded the rest of the chapters right now, it'd all be stuff I'm proud of. Just stuff I'd be less proud of than I would if I punched it into shape more. Having a strict schedule for posting makes it a lot easier to edit, I gotta say.
Then, on the other end of things, I've also been working on a Pokémon Crystal romhack, tentatively called Crystalis, though I haven't fiddled with the title screen yet. Assembly's pretty weird to work with, but it's interesting. It does what you tell it to, nothing more or less. I've successfully done all the major things I wanted to with it -- E4 round two, encounter adjustments, trainer adjustments -- but I'm sure the project scope will grow in time, as these things always do.
Or possibly I'll simply end up hacking on gens 1 or 3 instead. Truly, what I'd like to do someday is fiddle around with BW2, but there aren't anywhere near the same resources and I have no idea where to start. It's important to me that I not break anything already included in the game, you know? Even the in-game Pokédex. With Crystalis, the single most difficult thing I did was work out how to get the Trainer House to be much more interesting in single-player without breaking it in the event of someone playing on a flashcart with real hardware.

I'm only interested in canonverse or canon-divergent AUs, and I also have no interest in established-relationship fluff. Pre-relationship fluff, yes, but not established relationship fluff that's not smutty. Smut is great and do not worry about my squicks! I prefer dubcon to noncon; when I'm into a fucked up ship, I prefer when they know it's a bad idea and do it anyway and get in over their heads, as opposed to clearly being victimised.

Final Fantasy VII
I haven't played most of the Compilation, so please keep an OG focus. I don't mind extended canon details, but I'm also not invested in any of them.
- Cid Highwind/Reeve Tuesti -- Cid is a former Shinra pilot, yes? And Reeve as Cait Sith both steals and flies the Highwind in disc two, not to mention suborns the crew. Did they know each other pre-game? Cid got his life's work wrecked multiple times by departmental politics; does Reeve have any sympathy, and does it matter while everybody's pissed at Cait for being a spy? Do they have any professional respect for each other as being engineers not all that well suited to Shinra politics? I'm interested in anywhere you go with them, though I ask that you have Cait not be self-aware to any meaningful extent. I much prefer Reeve the nerd with weird hobbies.
- Elmyra Gainsborough/Barret Wallace -- A widow and a widower who both raised someone else's child for a last request. Even before you take into account that Elmyra was looking after Marlene up until Reeve took Marlene hostage, I think they've got a lot of potential, especially postgame. (This assumes Reeve evacuated her to Kalm with Marlene, but I think that's a safe assumption.) I'd really like for the AVALANCHE crew to make an effort to keep Elmyra from getting isolated now that her daughter is dead and they all miss her, and Barret needs something more constructive to do with his life now that he's not a terrorist and also the world nearly ended. Maybe they can bond and find something together.
Shin Megami Tensei IV
- Akira/Flynn -- I completely adore Infernal Tokyo for kink purposes and Infernal Akira's questionable competence and would always be thrilled to read more, but! I also like Blasted Tokyo Akira! And Aquila! And Akira's tendency to focus on the future while Flynn is focused on the here and now! FTR, if you haven't played Apocalypse, the only major thing you're missing that's fun to note here is Flynn's previous incarnation kind of sort of committed seppuku to summon Masakado, oops. (This is shown within the first ten minutes; it's not a spoiler.) If you have played Apocalypse, feel completely free to go with Nanashi/Flynn as well; I just really enjoy Akira.
Shin Megami Tensei IV Apocalypse
- Abe/Hallelujah -- Wow this ship seems incongruous here. Well! Talk about a total mess of a mentorship gone wrong. Do you think Hallelujah eats people? Because I would be absolutely for it if he eats people. Abe and his sex demons showing Hallelujah the ropes as Hallelujah wants aniki to notice him and WHOOPS big bro was daddy all along, fucking awkward. PWPs are good and so would be Abe making sure Hallelujah isn't totally disregarding his demonic nature. A growing boy needs magnetite. Abe helpfully keeping other people away as Hallelujah eats corpses. Abe and the succubi helping him with demon puberty. Terrible.
- Dagda/Danu/Nanashi/Nozomi -- Tone shift go! Nozomi's mentor role to the party is really fun and I enjoy how she clearly thinks Nanashi and Asahi are good kids, and I would absolutely read Nozomi showing Nanashi the ropes, as it were. Meanwhile Dagda is furious and Danu thinks this is hilarious and the demon incest makes this 100% funnier to Nozomi; this is perfect. She was just gonna show Nanashi some of the joys of life but pissing off Dagda makes this worth it and Danu thinks Nanashi's a good kid, too. Anything is good, but this is a delightful combo for sex comedy or PWP.
- Gaston/Jonathan -- Was it just me who found the Gaston + Merkabah sequence really intriguing? No? Well. I'm completely fine with it being one-sided Gaston -> Jonathan, given how the timeline works, but also horrendously fucked up Gaston/Merkabah taking advantage of Gaston's herocrush on Jonathan would be awesome.
- Hallelujah/Nanashi -- Young half-demon and possessed corpseboy 8D They're cute and I would adore anything where they're happy. I would also adore anything where Anarchy Route Nanashi keeps a half-demon pet. Go as fucked up as you please, and note that I have particular fondnesses for vore, cannibalism, necrophilia, and vivisections. Just. You know, if you felt like it. Fluffy smut is fine too, though.
- Isabeau/Nozomi -- The two responsible adults of the party! I'm sure they probably bonded a lot over being comparably not a total mess, plus they already knew each other. Adding in Danu is completely fine, if you so desire, and I love Napaea.
The World Ends With You
- Bito "Beat" Daisukenojo/Kariya Koki -- Talk about a fraught duo. Beat asked him and Uzuki about becoming a reaper, and later was way more concerned with their wellbeing than Neku, no matter that they killed his sister, but Beat spent a week as a reaper, yeah? What happened? What about after the Game? How does Kariya feel about the rookie who got a normal life, or Beat about the reapers? There's a lot of places you could go with them.
- Bito "Beat" Daisukenojou/Sakuraba Neku -- Week three is a pile of heartbreak and sweethearts and I want them to be happy. Or terrified of how they're about to die. Either way, I love it. I'm also fond of how Beat's the more empathetic of the two, as well as the one who's merciful towards brainwashed Uzuki and Kariya; I would absolutely read things set in week two dealing with Beat's need to repress absolutely everything with him dead, his sister double dead, his sister's murderers as coworkers, his life conditional on trying to kill that asshole who ticked him off last week, and said asshole trying hard to be a better person right when Beat's least able to deal with it. I just love these two so much.
- Hanekoma Sanae/Kiryu "Joshua" Yoshiya -- Mentor/student where the student ends up in charge of the mentor ♥ I like them fraught and with betrayal and Hanekoma well aware Joshua's been in a bad place mentally and them both very much not human.
- Kiryu "Joshua" Yoshiya/Kitaniji Megumi -- Joshua's been lonely for a long time and Megumi clearly thinks the world of him. Give me all the power imbalance and harassment in the workplace where the boss in question is to some extent a 15yo boy. Terrible. Terrible.
- Kitaniji Megumi/Minamimoto Sho -- THEIR LINES TOGETHER ARE SO WEIRD. Kitaniji clearly doesn't care if Minamimoto skives off meetings or calls him Megumi-cha~n or spends most of a week fucking around making Taboo Noise; he intervenes on w2d7, but not until then. What's up with them? Are they friends? Frenemies? I want to know!!

My tastes run towards the black comedy and gallows humor side of things, plus psychological horror, gore, and cannibalism, but I do like fluff and smut, too! Obviously many of these aren't on the darker side of the spectrum, and I promise you that every pairing I requested, I would be delighted to receive.
Please do not write me any noncon or rape fantasy, and I also have no interest in AUs other than canon divergence. If it's not in the same world, please don't bother. As far as kinks in smut go, I don't like scat or watersports, but other than that, I'm very hard to squick. If you've got something truly filthy you've been wanting an excuse to write, go for it.
Final Fantasy VII
I'm only fannish about the original game, though I don't mind picking and choosing details from the rest of the series, and on my recent replay, I found myself way more fascinated by the Shinra side of things than I used to be, oops. Particularly a certain morally-questionable weird cat man. I love the whole cast, though, and I promise you I'm interested in every single one of the relationships I requested.- Aerith Gainsborough & Reeve Tuesti -- Their relationship is so weird to me, because you find out Reeve'd kidnapped Marlene (and presumably also Elmyra) right before the Temple of the Ancients, and then during the Temple he's thrilled to be helpful to her, and Cait Sith has his ridiculous dramatic death scene and then Aerith's gone. That's it. She's murdered. And then it apparently takes him quite a while to tell her mother what happened (he doesn't mention it until you return to the Temple of the Ancients, which has to be at least two weeks later and probably more than that) and ... I dunno. It's weird. I don't know where you'd want to go with this, but I'm interested.
- Aerith Gainsborough & Sephiroth -- Sad children in labs, both broken by Shinra and Hojo. Except Aerith got out and Sephiroth didn't. I don't ship them, but I do think it's interesting that the timeline works for Sephiroth to have met her and Ifalna in the labs.
- Cid Highwind & Reeve Tuesti -- Pre-game Shinra interactions? Mid-game technicians being techniciany? I'm also going to point out that Reeve's the one who stole the Highwind away from Shinra in disc two (along with its crew).
- Elmyra Gainsborough/Barret Wallace or Elmyra & Barret -- Elmyra never shows up again in the Compilation afaik, which is kind of weird, because we know for sure Reeve evacuated her to Kalm along with Marlene so there's no way she died from Meteor. I really want to see Elmyra integrating into the AVALANCHE crew post-game as someone who mourns Aerith and bonding with the other single parent who's lost a spouse to Shinra. Ehehehe.
- Lucrecia Crescent/Cloud's Mother -- Yes. Absolutely.
- Reeve Tuesti & Barret Wallace -- The enduring rivalry, and then Compilation Reeve appears to be well on his way to conquering the world. Because that's not awkward. I want Barret to get to deck him >:)
- Reeve Tuesti & Vincent Valentine -- You can't convince me they didn't chat during the game. You just can't. Anything about them would be fun, either midgame or post-game with minimal familiarity with Dirge of Cerberus.
Kingdom Hearts
I have played the entire series, so do not worry about spoilers et cetera! I like fluff for these pairings to all have a bit of an edge there; these are all kind of mind-games-y and I'm really fond of fridge horror for them.- Namine & Riku Replica -- Two kids used to traumatise the other through no fault of their own *_* Either one's complicated feelings on the other are A++, or incorporate the manga and skip Riku killing the Replica for disastrous interactions either while Sora's asleep or after KHII, with Kairi wanting them both to heal rather than bury it.
- Namine/Sora or Namine & Sora -- What a fucking mess. Some amount of dubcon is expected and encouraged for this ship, though Sora's enthusiastic; I'm especially interested in AUs where Naminé doesn't put Sora to sleep to fix his memories, and so we're just ... left with an incredibly codependent mind-wiped Sora. And any of the consequences of that. Alternatively, anything involving Sora finding out exactly why he's supposed to thank Naminé would be grand.
- Riku Replica/Sora -- The Riku Replica's thing for Sora seems to be massive, but it entirely originates from mind control; Sora cares a lot about the Replica, but it's entirely because he thinks the Replica is Riku. What a mess. Either canon-compliant or canon-divergent for the Replica to not die so you can have fucked up back-on-Destiny-Islands messes are completely encouraged 8D
- Axel & Riku Replica -- Axel found a broken clone and used him to assassinate the last guy in his way. Axel's a bag of dicks, and that's just how I like him. What the hell would've happened if the real Riku didn't clean up after him? Does Lea ever make Riku's life a bit more difficult post-KHII and bring up their dirty laundry?
- Axel/Sora -- CoM-era or KHII-era are both grand, but I'm not huge on Sora/Lea. I especially like when Axel's hung up on his friendship with Roxas and that's coloring all of his interactions with Sora, hehe.
Subarashiki Kono Sekai / The World Ends With You
HELLO I AM HERE FOR DEAD PEOPLE. I like the whole cast, but I'm a complete sucker for anything taking place either during the Game or in a Game-adjacent context. o7 I like stuff to keep having supernatural elements, haha.- Beat/Kariya -- Someone mentioned this and I can't get it out of my head. Beat's whole arc with Uzuki and Kariya is fascinating, from first asking them how to become a reaper to making sure Neku doesn't erase them in week 3, and I'd really like to see something about them either during canon or post-canon.
- Beat/Neku -- My interests are more mid-game or a canon divergent AU than post-game fluff, ehehe. Their whole thing in weeks 2 and 3 is so much fun to me. Let them be happy :|b
- Hanekoma/Minamimoto -- I enjoy the whole gamut here, from scary edgemasters with Taboo Noise to them both being hipster weirdos who're a lot less damaging than they could be. Do they still know each other post-game? Does Minamimoto still keep trying for Joshua's head, or is he content for now? I personally prefer for more of a tryhard Banksy type focus on Minamimoto than on the math jokes and number puns, but both are good.
- Josh/Neku -- I never get bored of this ship, and this is the one time I'm interested in actual AUs, so long as Joshua's still dead and Neku's still a mostly-normal teenager. Ghost story stuff, especially. For them, I like stuff a bit bittersweet, haha.
Suikoden IV
Suikoden IV would be my favorite Suikoden if it'd been released as a finished game, but even what we got has a lot of potential. The kind of Lazlo I'm fond of is a bit cheerfully depressed, well aware he's going to die and making the best of it, and when he doesn't end up dying, well, he's happy to go live on a deserted island indefinitely. Maybe he'll finally even get his beach house.- Agnes/Elenor -- Mmmmm Silverbergs. Grumpy depressed alcoholic Silverbergs and their protégées. I'm here for anything with them ♥
- Kika/Lino -- Aaaaah ♥ I like what we see of them and that they've both been deeply hurt by the Rune of Punishment, and I'd be thrilled by any kind of missing scenes stuff for them. Pre-game, mid-game, post-game; it's all good.
- Lazlo/Snowe -- Oh, Snowe. I love Snowe. I love how he wants attention until he actually has attention and then he's immediately passing the attention off to Lazlo whether he wants it or not. I love his ridiculous attempts at piracy. I love his dog collar. I love fishing up his outfits. Make Snowe happy or make him a buttmonkey; either way, Snowe is wonderful.
- Lazlo/Ted -- Canon-compliant or Ted and Lazlo meet again post-game, either's great. As is Lazlo meeting Tir with past Lazlo/Ted! I'm not picky.

ursulav's on a book tour, and I went and saw her yesterday! She talked about fairy tales, and got the kids to help work out a retelling of the princess and the frog. It ended up being the Malaria Researcher and the Mosquito. I ... I would not like to be the prince who swatted a fairy and ended up cursed into a mosquito. It's definitely an evocative image, though.
I've been replaying Pikmin 2 the past few days, plus I just got Pikmin 3, and damn does Pikmin 3 have an incredible aesthetic. The control scheme in 3's a bit of a downgrade, but it's a beautiful game and the gameplay mechanics are neat. Just way off in a different direction than where 2 went, but that's okay: I got Pikmin 2 to be Pikmin 2.
