I am going to touch FFVII forever
Note: this has a lot of images and I didn't upload any of them myself. Yell at me if they get broken, but given my LP luck I don't really wanna try again right now.
Final Fantasy VII was utterly brilliant with art design and every time we see new stuff about the remake, I cry all over again. The overworld models look extremely dated now, but that game did things with perspective and visual composition and dedication to making it look in-engine even when it's not that's stayed unparalleled.
These are maps you walk around in! Some of the screencaps are from cutscenes, but if you haven't played through FFVII recently, you do actually walk on these maps with the same variety of camera angles and scaling and perspective.

Cloud being a grunt for Rufus's Opening Ceremony. You walk through this area of Junon with the camera ranging from a snails-eye view of you ...
... to you being a little speck, still immediately identifiable no matter where you are by the fact you're bright blue or bright yellow. I wish I had a screencap of you next to the farther warp, but this will have to suffice.

Walking through Mt Corel, sometimes you're a big bold explorer through the mountains!

And then you're a little insignificant speck. On that map with the bridge Cid's on there, you go all the way down to a little speck when you're on the middle of the bridge! They use camera angles and perspective to really PUSH that you're insignificant and walking through this nasty old unmaintained mountain path that might collapse at any time. Especially because it often does! Cloud jumps out of the way!

Consider this iconic shot of Cloud and Sephiroth in the library. Cloud is taking up about 25% of the image here. Sephiroth is less than 1% of the screen, right next to the vanishing point in simple one-point perspective so your eye is immediately on him. It's gorgeous composition. His character model is shrunken down to be 20x16 pixels here and there's no doubt whatsoever that that right there is Sephiroth. That's Sephiroth, and he's terrifying, and you are with Cloud being scared. And then you can run through this same hallway, and Cloud's huge as he enters and he shrinks down to the same size as Sephiroth as he gets to the ending! This isn't a cutscene-only camera angle!
It's so fucking good, and meanwhile I don't know of anything else that's gotten close.

Walking through Mt Nibel being tiny and irrelevant.

Walking through Mt Nibel being seriously tiny and irrelevant and young Tifa blends in, but Sephiroth, the trooper, and Cloud don't. You see the trooper so clearly.

Sephiroth explaining materia to you all, and notice how the background is out of focus. It's just you and Tifa and Sephiroth and the naturally-formed materia.
It's so good.
